Flat fire on Hermon Hill

The London Fire Brigade have reported that the fire is now under control but crews will be “damping down hotspots for some time”.

There are now ten fire engines and 72 firefighters and officers at the scene of the flat fire in Wanstead. Part of a third floor flat and the roof are alight.

Ten people left the building before the Fire Brigade arrived.  There are currently no reports of any injuries.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters and officers have been called to a fire in a flat on Hermon Hill in Wanstead according to the London Fire Brigade.

Part of a third floor flat is currently alight. Fire crews from Woodford, Leyton, Leytonstone and Stratford Fire stations are at the scene. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
